Oops! Cry?

Mama asked for my help at her tuition centre last Monday because their teacher is still on honeymoon.
I was asked to teach Maths Yr 2 and there were only two of them.
The others were missing since it's still school holiday.

My students for today were Ainin and Hazim. When mama told me to teach Maths Yr 2, I was blur because I wasn't sure of their level and the last topic they learned. Mama told me to teach them 'table'. We, the older generation may recognise it as sifir. Hahaha.. Terasa kuno kan? Hahaha.

Anyway, I told them to write down Table 2 - Table 5 on a piece of paper and memorise them before I asked them to read the tables one by one. I knew Ainin won't have much trouble. She's brighter than the boy walaupown dia cakap tak nak bukak mulot as if ada diamond in her mouth. *sigh*

That Hazim boy however, faced great difficulty to memorise Table 4. It took him more than 10 minutes to remember them even though he had learned them at mama's tuition and his school, repeatedly. Later, I gave them a handout of a simple exercise which contained 20 questions and told them to answer the questions on their own. I created the questions myself BTW.
Ainin didn't find the exercise that hard, but Hazim did. The time was running out and Ainin had completed 90% of her task. Hazim tried to peek for her answers, but I told him he's never gonna learn if he copies from someone else's. Immediately, he covered his face with his chubby palms and let out a long sigh.
I knew he was gonna cry, mama had warned me, but I could care less at that moment. Haha!

The drama occured when Ainin handed in her paper, started packing her things. Panic conquered him.
And the sudden appearance of mama made everything worse, haha! He broke down, hahaha.
I wasn't entirely shocked as I knew I had it coming, hehe. I couldn't help but chuckle, I know bad of me, but I couldn't suppress it anymore, lol.

He cried because he was so panic that he didn't manage to answer all the questions. He managed to answer only 8 out of 20. He was so terrified that I was gonna lock him up in the room until he finished the exercise, haha! I'm not that crazy or mean! *sigh*

Funny little kids with their funny imaginations. -.-"
I didn't feel bad about it at all because I know I have never raised my voice to any of my students in my entire teaching life and they said I'm the coolest teacher ever. Their words, not mine. -.-"
Mama said, he does cry a lot and even Ainin agreed and she laughed at him too, hehe.

P/S: Future teachers, we will come across with this type of student one day. Be patient with the small kids, they are really sensitive. Whenever you do something or say something to them, remember to put yourself in their position. Small kids and bigger kids can be really challenging  and handful BUT that what makes the teaching world fun and valuable! =D

Have a nice day y'all!
Natasha.
