Maternal Grandparents.

She, who takes care of me since the day I was born. Until now.
He, who I have wrapped around my little finger.
Yesterday, while I was enjoying my Wall’s Tiramisu ice cream, it triggered my memory about my grandma.

When I was small, I loved to eat Magnum and I still do! But, back then in the early 90’s, I didn’t always get to eat Magnum and sometimes not even Paddlepop Rainbow. Haha.
1) Because it was quiet expensive and 2) The nearest shop was not that near.

So, what Mak did was, she made a cup of Milo and let it froze in the refrigerator. After half an hour or an hour or so, the Milo turned into ice and that instant, I knew it was my ice-cream time. Haha.

There was always a cup of frozen Milo or Orange or Strawberry or Ribena or Grape ‘ice-cream’ in the refrigerator. LOL! Banyak flavour kan? Hahaha! Well, that was MY ice-cream. :) Better than ais krim Malaysia! Hahaha.

That's about ice cream.

Then, when I was in Standard 1 and 2, we had to do a lot of art work at school. We drew, we painted, we coloured and we did origami. We did a lot of fun and stress-free stuff! :D

I remembered there was a day when I told Mak that I needed to buy a new bottle of glue. Mak said that she didn’t have time to go to the shop, so she made her own brand glue! Satu periuk besar ( a big pot ) ok! Hahaha! It was made from potato and it was really sticky. It’s the best glue in the whole wide world I believe! Hahahaha. XD

My grandma can do almost anything.

So, when I went to school, I took out a bottle, the same size as the small mineral water bottle, and guess what, it wasn’t mineral water, but Mak’s homemade glue. Hahaha. All of my friends ended up sharing mine. Since that, I didn’t buy glue anymore. I had dozen of bottles at home. Hahaha. Why do I have to spend money on something that Mak can make? Hahaha.

I love my grandmother so much! She’s been there for me every single day. When I’m in pain she just knows how to make feel better and ease the pain away. She remembers all of my favourite food, and when I say ALL, it includes my favourite brand of mayonnaise, sauce, the vege that I like and dislike and so on, you know the small details.

She knows the food that I take and don’t take. Every time I return home from campus, she would cook my favourite dish, ketam! ( crab ). And she’s the best cook ever! My neighbours say she’s the best cook in town! Hahaha. It’s so true!

Back then when I was small, I was so into Barbie and princesses. One day I told Mama that I wanted one of those pretty dresses that the Barbie and the princesses had on. Together with the crown and veil and the other accessories too. Hahaha. Mama said there was no way she's gonna buy them for me, cause they're gonna cost fortune!

So, as a talented tailor, Mak sew me this beautiful aqua gown and it came with a veil too! Hahaha. It's my favourite gown! Mak made most my clothes, not just me, but the entire family's. Amazing right?

She can do almost anything. What I have to do is, call her and she'll will come, running in aid. :)

p/s : Appreciate your grandparents while they are still alive. Enjoy your day with them, as much as I’m enjoying mine right now. But, I do feel bad for my behaviour sometimes. How I wish I could turn the time and make our days better. Hmm... Talking about food, Mak dah
siap masak, I’m going for my lunch now. Enjoy yours! Toodles! ;)

Natasha
