Final Check-Up

The day that I have been dreading is finally here.
I am 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant today. I am SO ready to pop out, but not quite mentally prepared for the pain that will definitely come and destroy my body and bruise my ego.
Why did I let myself go weak at husband's sweet talk and get pregnant again... 😑😆
I had my final check-up with Dr Wan Syahirah earlier today. 'Twas not a comforting visit, as she had to perform another round of sweep-and-stretch because apparently my vagina is too stubborn to cooperate. I was only 1cm dilated and it has been two weeks since our last sweep-and-stretch, which means that I am not progressing like how we had hoped. Weird, considering the amount of walk and work I have been doing the past couple weeks.
We walked through my birth plan one last time considering that she may not be around to insert foley balloon catheter. I was convinced by her that it is less invasive and therefore has a higher chance of success compared to oral induction- the one I had when I was delivering with Elana.
According to Syahirah, this type of induction does not put too much stress on the uterus, therefore the likelihood to fail induction due to fatal destress will be lesser. She told me that 90% of those who had foley balloon induction, had successfully given birth vaginally and with no complications. So, please pray that I am among that 90%.
