Revisiting My Inner Child
Natasha Zainall November 10, 2015 0
Good Morning, city dwellers.
Oh-my-gad! Can you believe this? In ten days I will be married! Like, wow.. Seriously, I am getting married. Wow. I feel...very...adult now. Haha.
Mum has been acting a little too emotional (major emotional breakdown) these past few weeks, and gramma has been a tad bit fiery (read: highly sensitive ticking bomb) than she usually is. Everyone's emotion, in fact, is not quite right at the moment. It is a whole whirlwind of emotion, I must say.
In order to take our mind off, possibly avoid the fact that I am going to get married and move across the ocean in ten days, mum came up with a brilliant idea to bring us all to Singapore. I quote,
"I know that you will not be able to come home as often now and you will likely miss most of our family trips and vacations, so I think it's a great idea if we all spent our final days with baby in Singapore and do something fun!"
And that was how I found my sleepy self queueing in front of Universal Studio Singapore at 9 o'clock in the morning. Haha.
Even though, the park only started operating at 10 o'clock, there were ocean of people queueing in front of the gates. And we were a bunch of them. Hehe.
I have been to Singapore a couple times before, but never USS. So, you can tell how excited I was to be able to release my inner child through these photos.
There are basically eight worlds in Universal Studio Singapore:
⤅ Hollywood (the place where Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Minions, Sesame Streets, Hulk, Freddy, Frankenstein and other characters usually 'hang out' on the streets of Hollywood)
⤅ New York (Steven Spielberg's Studio can be found here and let me tell you, his studio lets you to experience how it really feels like to be on his very, very realistic set)
⤅ Sci-Fi City (home to the best 3D Transformer Ride ever in this entire world and the deathly scary Galactica)
⤅ Ancient Egypt (where tall, muscular Egyptian men, beautiful and sexy Egyptian women, scary looking mummies and creepy crawlies are spread around like it is normal)
⤅ Water World (place where you will definitely get wet, as in soaking wet, especially sitting in Blue Zone, as you watch the show)
⤅ The Lost World (for the less water experience but more splash and thrill, Jurassic Park's Rapids Adventure is the best)
⤅ Far Far Away (follow Shrek in 4D animation as he races with Donkey to save Princess Fiona)
⤅ Madagascar (ride Madagascar carousel and meet the casts)
So, here we go to the Hollywood!
Welcome to New York!
On my right is Steven Spielberg's Studio and on my left is Fifth Avenue Restaurant.
This limestone building reminds me a lot of the TV Show Series Gossip Girl, where the main character, Blair Waldrof can be found sitting on the steps with her posies, eating yogurt and demeaning poor girls with terrible sense of fashion.
Oh how I miss watching Her Supremacy Queen B on act. Haha.
Somehow, this red-block tiled building reminds me of another TV Show series, that is Friends. I cannot really see the resemblance of these two photos to the series, but they just somehow do. Lol.
To Sci-Fic World we go!
I went on Transformers Ride and I have to say, it was the best ride I have ever ridden in my entire life! I kid you not. It gives you the real experience to ride one of the Transformers, in my case, Bumblebee, while he tries to run away from the vicious Deception.
I spun, drifted, smashed through the buildings. I was thrown from one Transformers to the other and got thrown into one of Deception's mouth and came out through its tail! Haha. It was THE BEST 3D ride I have ever experienced and I honestly do not mind going on it again next time.
Bumblebee. Such a handsome and muscly car, it is.
Galactica...the ride that I will never go on. This may come as a surprise to those who do not know me, but I have never, like never been on a scary roller coaster like this. The ones that I have been on...were more like child's roller coaster, with mild suspends and steeps and fly and jumps and all those scary shiz. Haha.
Leaving the scary roller coaster behind with no regrets, here we are at the Ancient Egypt World.
And the cute, relaxing ride, Indiana Jones. Haha. We had fun riding it, though it was too brief. We expected it to be more like ghost house, where mummies suddenly jump out of nowhere, or giant scorpions walking towards us...
Oh well, maybe Jurassic World has something scarier to offer us.
Remember how Aunt Claire ran around the forest and facility in high-heeled stilettos and her tight skirt? Haha, I wish I could do that while I go on the Rapid Adventure ride. It was one hell of a ride!
My family and I were quite soaked during this ride, but we had so much fun. I think, this was the only ride which could accommodate us all in one ride. Even though the dinosaurs were pretty convincing and the flow of the river was dangerous, we just screamed and laughed through it all. I personally love this ride because it we get to enjoy our togetherness in one single buoy, instead of being separated into different vehicles.
I will definitely come back to ride this again one day. Perhaps with my babies. I am sure my kids would love this ride. Hehe.
Those water experience made us hungry than usual, Thank God for its Dinosaur Egg (spaghetti meatball) and some weird named drink, which really was only Coke. Haha.
Without us realising, we had spent half a day in the USS and had gone through more than half of the Worlds. Gramms and brothers insisted for us to take a break at the food court in Jurassic Park before we head back to our castle in Far Far Away. Hehe.
Since we purchased Express Tickets, we were awarded with some privileges, like shorter queuing lane, food and shopping vouchers, free rides to all rides in the park and few others which I cannot remember, hehe.
I am home! Well, almost... Too bad it was raining heavily, so our pumpkin had to slow down a little before we reach the main gate.
💁
Thank God we remembered to pack our raincoats, so we did not have to waste our time by taking a shelter under the tents and we did not have to buy USS overly expensive raincoats. You will definitely get wet, whether you like it or not, intend or not. So I suggest you to take my word seriously, pack a raincoat with you if you happen to make a trip to USS.
It is one of the most important items that you need to bring when you are visiting USS, beside an empty water bottle or hygiene wet tissue in case of toilet emergency...
Ahhhh. It feels so good to be home. All hail to Queen Natasha.
👸
My family's impromptu and short gateway to Singapore was definitely worth it. It has been awhile since I last saw my mum, gramms, aunts and uncles share a laugh and play pranks on each other. To be able to get away from the inevitable, which is me getting married and moving away, is quite nice.
I really hope that Fauzi will be understanding enough to not refrain me from joining my family and their trips in the future. They are the most important people in my life and I do not want my marriage to be the reason why I become emotionally far apart from them.
Here's to hoping that he will be open enough to join my family and their trips!
