My Fairytale Wedding: We Said 'I Do' (Part 1)
Natasha Zainall November 21, 2015 2
Hi!
I have finally caught my breath and ready to write at last. Today, I am super excited to share my most exciting post.
MY WEDDING DAY!
November 20th was truly the happiest day of my life. I could not stop smiling. I wish that day could have lasted all week. Or all month. Or eternally. Haha.
It was funny how people were giving me so many advice prior to my wedding day, like to eat enough beforehand because I would not have a chance to take a bite once the wedding commenced, and to make sure to stop and look around and take in the beauty of the day.
But, I must say that everybody knew exactly what they were talking about!
Anyway, let's re-live the magic. I am going to share some intimate photos with you and take you through the big day.
Our solemnisation ceremony took place at my private residence in Ipoh on Friday night, November 20th. The forecast kept saying that it was going to rain that night and I was a little worried by the evening. Thankfully, it did not rain. Well, until after the ceremony. Haha. So, we did manage to get some lovely photos from the night.
I have been working very close with my wedding planner, AzliAsyikin since my engagement ceremony, last February. And I am pretty sure she is relieved that she does not have to deal with a demanding, and picky bride like me anymore. Haha.
She has come to know of my personality, likes dislikes, loves hates and preferences over this nine months. I am open to any ideas and suggestions, but they must be white or cream, pearls, pastel flowers (peonies preferably), English elegant and regal.
Hence, my regal, fairytale dais. I absolutely LOVED my dais. So did everyone who attended my solemnisation and reception ceremonies.
You know how people say the bride gets super pyscho and panicky on the day of her wedding? That totally was not the case for me. I was the calmest I have ever been in my life! I was a little shocked by that. Haha. It was such a chill day and everything went smoothly.
Well, except for the Chief Kadi who stammered, not once, but four times, upon saying my name. And Fauzi had to correct him every single time. Haha. I would have laughed out loud, if I were not the bride. Haha.
If only I had a photo of my solemnisation dress. It was simply beautiful. It was intricate with diamonds and pearls that it weighed me down when I put it on. Maybe it will be for another time to upload, hehe.
Then, the next day comes my reception: November 21st, 2015.
If I thought my solemnisation dress was heavy, well, my reception dress was even heavier. It weighs as heavy as 4 kilogram, and I had the dress on from 11 o'clock in the morning until 6 o'clock in the evening. I was lucky my shoulders did not decide to fall off of me. Haha.
I once mentioned to my family that I wish we lived in Europe, so it would be possible for me to have white peonies for my hand bouquet and white winter wedding as the theme. They laughed at me.
When my grandmother, mother and aunties asked me, what flowers I wanted for the bouquet, and my response was, "Since peonies is out of the question....anything that is pretty then."
With that being said, I had just given a complete control over the flower situation to grandmother and her entourage. I was scared when I realised what I had just done. Haha.
But they totally killed every detail! I wanted my bouquet to be simple and elegant. They went with white tulips, which I absolutely loved! And the fact that it was picked by my own family members, means so much more to me.
How handsome was my groom?! I guess, it is true about the whole 'wedding glow' myth, huh. Haha.
Oh well, this is all for now. I have to get back to packing our bags for our honeymoon. Our train leaves at 12 am. I am super excited to share our honeymoon story, and of course our our second reception, which is happening next week!
So, goodnight for now!
