No One Is Immortal

Call me innocent. Call me nonsensical. Call me superstitious.
Or even irreligious.
Cause I once thought, life was immortal.
And the naive me thought, none of my family members were going to leave me.

Oh, how very Alice in Wonderland, me -
Believing life was as Wonderland with Happily Ever Afters!

18th October 2012,
marked the day that life, indeed, is not a Wonderland nor a Neverland,
and Happily Ever Afters do exist, but are not permanent.

From Him we came, hence, to Him we shall return.

My grandpa breathed his very last breath and crossed the great divide, in the Holy city of Mecca on Thursday, the 18th October 2012 at 5.25 o'clock in the morning.
Right: 1990. Mama's Graduation Day.
Left: 2011. My Graduation Day

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd run right up to heaven and bring you home again.

No farewell words were spoken, no foretoken were foreseen,
And pufff, you were gone before I knew it.
Before I could decipher what was going on.

You left too soon, Atuk.
I didn't get the time to share and indulge you with my success.
When it was you, who clearly were the most excited about my career.
This shall be one regret of mine that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

You left so sudden, Atuk.
Are you proud of who I am today?
Have I become the grandchild that you have always wanted me to be?
Have I made you proud before your friends and most importantly, before Allah, Atuk?
I wish you would come to my dreams and say something.
:'(

Despite it all, Baby redha.
Because I know, you are in a much better place now, in Mecca -
The holiest place of all; the place where all Muslims wish to lay down his/her soul.
Even though, I didn't get to kiss you and hug you one last time, I accept this qada' and qadar.
I hope you rest in peace.

In loving memory of my dearest grandpa, Wan Teh bin Ahmad (1933-2012).
I will always love you, Atuk.
I wish I had told you that.

I will continue to make you proud of me, Atuk.
Especially in front of Him. =')
