Raya Pt 4

Hello mate!

How are you todaaay? Hope all is well. =)

I am very much alive. Still in Penang Island and savouring every minute of it. The best part of  Eid is a good catch up with the entire family members and have a good laugh. It's always nice to chill with loved ones, especially by the beach.

Lol, I can't stop laughin'! XD Abang sahaja all prepared for the jump, haha. And that's my grandmommy, hehee. While we were at this lunatic-hillarious stunt, Alisa, was drawing her name on the beach, clearly not interested to join us and embarrass herself in public, lol.

There. Maisarah. Hehe, that's what her schoolmates call her, but she prefers to be called Aliesa. =)

Even when I am embarking upon my *sobs* senescence, lol, I am truly content to learn that my younger siblings STILL prefer to chillex with me by the beach like old times, and do the regular sibling's stuff. Girl friend talk, school talk, joke around, and purposely tease and drive them up the wall, haha.

And this:
Haha, getting in touch with my inner-child; in attempt to build sand castle, but it looks more like an ugly looking, unsafe fort, haha. Don't judge the book by its cover though, it's a lot stronger that it appears, haha cause it stood still, morning-early evening, until a very big wave came and destroyed it. =(

Haha, two dugongs stranded!

And the two pretty mermaids were watching at the dugongs, amused, haha.

Sun is setting. My favourite moment. =)

Learning that my younger siblings still need me even when they have their own set of friends to hang out with, and realising that they prefer to talk to me and be open up only to me, swell my heart. *teary eyes*

And here I thought, my baby siblings will eventually forget me and replace me with their cool best friends, because their big sister is way too 'mature' and less 'cool' for them to chill with or talk to. Well, that's a HUGE relief! Haha.

That aside.

Have you ever heard of the infamous Nasi Kandar on Penang Road named, Line Clear? I've heard about it multiple times from my granddaddy, who was raised up in Penang.

Line Clear Nasi Kandar is located on the busy Penang road and it's been operating since 1922.
Previously, in 1920's the rice hawkers or vendors who wore dirty sarong and once-white shirts, would balance a pole on their shoulder with two huge wooden containers of rice meals and waited on the very Penang Road for customers.

Rice hawker in sarong, balancing a pole on their shoulder.
That is how the word nasi kandar came from. =)

Line Clear Nasi Kandar is actually situated in a narrow alley with no comfy seating arrangements, and the queue is very long and the kitchen is only 2 steps away from the queue.

Don't believe me?
Mommy and the boys are queuing up. Sampai keluar kedai tu!

Half an hour later, we were finally inside of the 'restaurant'.
See! The kitchen is two steps away from the queue, haha.

Despite the fact that we have to wait in line for approximately 30-45 minutes (due to the awefully long queue, usually the waiting time depends on the queue), none of the customers fled. Everybody waited patiently for their turn without a fuss.

Malaysian people can be very patient when they want to. Lining up for food, yes. Waiting in line while driving, big no. Semua pun nak short-tempered when driving. -.-'

Erk, the kitchen. The moment my eyes landed on the kitchen, I couldn't help but regretted and had the urge to run away, haha. But, the aroma of the pungent curries made me stay, despite how unclean the kitchen was. Besides, it's impossible to not notice it since it's only two steps away from our queue, lol.

Haha, they sure did serve with original spices. That includes sweat maybe? Haha, kidding.

Queuing straight into great meal.

The workers will shout, "Line Clear!" when the line or table is cleared for the next customer, haha. A humorous sight to see. =)

It was a great experience I must say, though I'm pretty sure it will be my last time, haha.
I do appreciate the history of nasi kandar and the thrill experience that Line Clear had offered, but I am not a person who's really keen of lining up under the sun, sweating like a tired pig, and eating in an alley with all the hustle of waiters scouring around with trays and food.

Nope, not really a fan of kekecohan, haha. I prefer to dine in a more relax and comfy place that offers good ambiance, hehee.

For those who might be interested, I have managed to grab the address and phone number.

Moving on.

Whenever we are in Penang, we would pay gdanddaddy's cousin brother, who lives in Bayan Lepas a visit. It's a tradition.

May Allah bless both of them. Amin.

Granddaddy was born on 1933, and his cousin brother was born on 1927. Alhamdulillah both of them are well. They are the 6th generation of Dato' Jannaton, which makes me the 8th generation, hehe. *muka bangga*

As a little girl, I was craaazzzyyy over bears, toys, dolls, especially Barbies! Haha, who doesn't, right. And there's no other place to go and see them, but at the Toy's Museum in Tanjung Bungah, Penang.
The entrance fee was RM10 for adult and RM6 for children.

Terminator. He creeps me out, haha.
The sick bastard Jason, who I loathe. I am no fan of Friday the 13th movies, pardon me and my hatred.
Shreks and his babies, aaawwww!
Kunfu Panda. Isn't he the cutest panda ever! Haha. I love this photo. =)

Superman!
Haha, looking tough and heroic as usual, but the idea of wearing your undies on the outside kinda amuses me. Hilang macho okay pakai undies on the outside, lol!

Haha, if he popped out of my closet, I'd run towards him and hugged him to his death, haha. He's too cute and cuddle-able, lol.
Alisa and Barbie!
If he's alive, I'd jump on him! Haha.
Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Danial Vaugh.
Knight in shining Armour.
Ladies resting on the ancient men's laps, lol.

Sleep has overcome me, I shall retire to my comfy bed and drift off to Wonderland, hehee. I shall update more next time. See you in the next entry happy readers.

With love,
Natasha
