Raya Pt 2

Location : Selama Kedah.
Mission : Visit grandpapa's sister.
Mission failed!
Haha, Selamat Hari Raya everyone. =)
We're supposed to visit grandpapa's sister at Selama Kedah, but she was M.I.A. -.-'
The old tree in front of her house.
It's been there for almost a hundred years, so I've been told. Whether it's fact or a myth, that we have to ask the dead they sure know, haha.
The tricky trail to her house and Alisa looking all tired from the long journey and now a little 'jungle-trekking', hahaha.
So, the mission was unaccomplished and we were starving. Since, she and her family were M.I.A, leaving us with no choice but to wander around the unfamiliar place to find the perfect spot to have lunch.
The mosque.
Haha, we went to the nearest mosque (which was NOT near at all, it was 20 minutes of driving from her house!) to perform our Jamak Takhir prayers and to stuff food into our system before any of us fainted!
We found a table at the corner of the mosque. Perfect.
We set out our lunch boxes and literally stuff food into our faces without any further complaints or so much of a glimpse to the unwelcome onlookers, haha.
There goes the proper table etiquettes, haha. My social-conscious-manners-slaves of paternal grandparents wouldn't be very pleased to see this, haha. We were starving, we hadn't eaten anything since the previous night, and it's already 4 o'clock in the evening, I say damn with the etiquette.
My auntie and the thing she's holding in her hands is called lemang.
Lemang is a traditional Malay food made of glutinous rice and coconut milk and cooked in a hollowed bamboo stick lined with banana leaves in order to prevent the rice from sticking to the bamboo.
Wanna have some? I say, hop on the plane and welcome to Malaysia! Haha.
Abang and Achik.
Abang's blur face when Atuk started telling him stories about his siblings, haha. And Achik's too busy digging some food that she didn't pay attention to any of our conversations! Haha.
My mommy, focusing on which food to attack! Haha, she was grumpy because she was starving! Haha.
My grandpapa, giggling because he just figured out how to open that can. -.-' HAHA.
Asu, eyeing the lemang, haha, while calculating the calorie in her mind, and contemplating whether to give in or not, and at the end, she defeated terribly. Tsk Tsk. HAHA! XD
My Ayang.
He has the habit of meratah food, which kinda gross sometimes, haha. A Pak Haji eating under a tall tree, in a mosque compound, in a standing position, haha. Ini memang bagus. =P
And me. Yes, wearing Hijab! Hehe.
Pretty aren't I? Haha, no? Green isn't your colour. =P Haha.
Dalam masjid kan, the least I can do is wear Hijab. Respect the home of Allah. =)
Hope all is well with you guys. Take care. Have a blessed Syawal and a blast holiday with family and loved ones. Oh, drive carefully, remember your loved ones. =D
Pretty me (haha),
Natasha
