Hari Merdeka.

Or known as Independence Day, is the national day of Malaysia commemorating the independence of the Federation Malaya from British colonial on 31st August 1957. Ever since that year, Hari Merdeka is celebrated every year on the same date, 31st August.

I'm sure all of us, Malaysians, are aware and well-educated pertaining the history - of the events leading to independence, how it was finally and successfully achieved and the people who were responsible for the success. So, I'm not going to write a lengthy entry about that, don't worry, haha.

Tough, the main purpose of me writing this entry is this;
55 years of friendship between a Malay boy and a Chinese boy.
This is what we call as, 1 Malaysia. 1 Bangsa.

Regardless of your background or race or religion or belief, this is what we should be doing - commemorating and celebrating Hari Merdeka as one, without hinder agenda, but pure love for the country and friendship.

This is what today's youngsters should ponder and follow - respect each other regardless of their races and religions. But today, all I can see is racism, everywhere. What is to happen to Malaysia if we keep fighting among each other? Do we want history to repeat itself? I don't.

So,
Let's celebrate Hari Merdeka as 1 Malaysia, 1 Rumpun, and 1 Bangsa. That is if we want to keep our country at peace.

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools” - Martin Luther King Jr.
In memory of our great Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, who nurtured Malaysia into existence, let us once again remember and relive the true spirit of “Merdeka, Merdeka, Merdeka.”

Happy 54th Independence Day to all Malaysians!

Check this video out! ;D
