Proud to be born in 80's. =)

Hello.
For the past couple of days, I couldn't help, but think about the differences of the 80's babies, 90's babies and the Y2K's babies. Have you ever thought about that?
Every time I look back at my photos, I remember how much fun I had when I was a kid. I was a very active, outdoor type of kid. AND I am still an active girl, who loves outdoor activities as much as I did when I was a kid.
=)
So this morning, my bestfriend tagged me in a very interesting photo and I would really love to share it with you. For those who were born in 80's would definitely crack a smile when you read it because you can see how much this post relates to you and your childhood memories.

It's WAY hillarious isn't it? Haha! XD

When I was growing up, I had a lot friends. Friends were easier made when we were kids, when there was no jealousy, when there was no gossip, when there was no conspiracy, and when things were less complicated.
My friends and I spent most of our time having fun, doing all sorts of kids activities, which kids nowadays could really learn. I seriously think they've become IT slaves. *worried look* -.-'
We had IT, computers, gameboy back then, but we were not as obsessed as today's kids! They are like zombies! Their life are all about technology and gadgets. That's it, nothing else. It's creepy!
I had my first computer when I was 5 and for a kid around that age, I was considered computer literate. A computer whiz! But, I knew my life was not all about technologies and academic, it had to be more. And I was right. I am right.
My friends and I played rounders.
We played aci duduk! Haha.
We cycled every evening.
We played cook! Yep, even the boys enjoyed it. Haha. Just admit it boys, you guys enjoyed playing cook, hubby and wifey. =P Hahaha.

We played getah! And may I add, it's my favourite cause I was unbeatable. HAHA. |
We played badminton like everyday, before and after school.
Not to forget, we climbed trees and sometimes hid in drains because we didn't wanna go home! LOL.
When one of us was not feeling well, we just stayed at his or her house and played monopoly (favourite of mine, hehe). We did things that kids SHOULD do. Kids should go out and have fun and live their lives.
But sadly, kids these days do not enjoy doing these, as they prefer to stay home and get stuck in front of the TV playing PlayStation or have their faces in books, studying, OR worst, going online on Facebook.
-.-'
And the closest example is my 12 year old brother, who received his first personal laptop when he was only 7. Green eyes anybody? Haha.
And he has had Facebook account since he was 7. My mommy might have encouraged it, just as much as she did to me about getting a computer for a 5 year old kid. Lol! XD
But it was solely on the purpose of academic, as it is one of the ways for him and his classmates to get attached to their teachers regarding school matters. =)
They even have their personal blogs, which they use as the medium to communicate with their friends from New Zealand. It's a program under the collaboration of Kperak of Perak State with the New Zealand government in order to encourage learning through technologies and strengthening English language. =)
I don't blame on the teaching learning using technologies part, but I just don't understand how can an individual let IT takes over his or her life?
My little brother rarely goes out of the house and does stuff that boys do. Instead, he prefers to be in his room, going online and studying. But, it has to be admitted that he's a bright kid. =)
I was a student myself, but I still knew when to have fun and when to get serious. I feel such pity for this little guy, he lives a boring life. Lol. I wish I could do something to show him that there are much more important things in life.
For example, the relationship between family and friends, the experience from childhood and teenage-hood.
This post has hit me a realisation. When I have kids of my own, I will make sure that they get to enjoy their childhood as much as they could. Because when they grow up and reflect back, they will thank me for giving them the experience of being a kid.
One will be surprised of how much our childhood memory can affect us.
=)
Life is short
Life is fragile
Life is so darn delicate
Do yourself a favour
Enjoy your life while you're still breathing.
Love,
Natasha.
